Terms of business
Plain terms for a small manufacturer. They apply to every quote and every order unless a signed agreement says otherwise. Draft of 5 September 2026; the first order is placed under the version in force on that day.
1. Who we are
Borehamwood Capsule Works is a trading name of BLAST HQ LIMITED, company no. 09630194, registered in England and Wales. "We" and "the works" mean that company. "You" means the business ordering from us. We supply businesses, not consumers.
2. Quotes and orders
A quote is open for 30 days and is indicative until you accept it in writing and we confirm. Prices exclude VAT and carriage unless stated. Indicative prices on this website are not an offer to sell. An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing; we may decline any order, and will decline any that falls outside section 6.
3. Your label is yours
For private-label and contract-filling work you are the food business operator responsible for the product as placed on the market and for everything on its label: the name, the ingredients list, the allergen statement, the quantities, the daily dose, the warnings, your name and address, and every nutrition or health claim. We check your artwork against the mandatory particulars and the GB nutrition and health claims register as a service, and we will tell you what we find and refuse to print a claim the register does not authorise. That check is not a warranty, not legal advice and does not transfer responsibility to us. You sign the proof before print, and the signed proof is what we print. You indemnify us against claims arising from your label, your specification or ingredients you supplied.
4. Ingredients and materials
Ingredients and capsules we source come with a specification and a certificate of analysis per lot, which we keep and will show you. Ingredients you supply must arrive with the same, sealed and labelled with the lot number; we may refuse or quarantine anything that does not. We are not responsible for the quality of what you supply beyond handling it correctly.
5. Manufacture and batch acceptance
Every run has a batch record, and you receive a copy with the goods. Fill weight is controlled to an average within 5% of the target and no single capsule beyond 10%, unless your specification states tighter limits and we have agreed them. Counts are not fewer than the stated count per unit. Yield is quoted per run and a variance of up to 3% on the quantity delivered is within tolerance and invoiced as delivered. You have 10 working days from delivery to inspect and reject a batch that does not meet the specification; after that the batch is accepted. A rejected batch is remade or credited at our choice; that is the limit of our liability for it.
6. What we will not make
Anything containing a substance on the UK medicine list, anything requiring a traditional herbal registration or a marketing authorisation, any product whose label carries a nutrition or health claim the GB register does not authorise or a medicinal claim, and anything otherwise unlawful to sell as a food supplement in the UK. If a matter comes to light after acceptance, we may cancel the order and refund what has not been spent.
7. Payment
New clients pay 50% on order and the balance before dispatch. Established clients are invoiced on dispatch with 14 days to pay. Ingredients bought for your order are invoiced whether or not the run proceeds, once bought. Goods remain ours until paid for.
8. Delivery and risk
Lead times are quoted from the machine's measured rate and are estimates; we tell you at once if one slips. Goods travel by Royal Mail or courier at your cost and risk passes on delivery to the carrier. Shortages or damage must be reported within 3 working days.
9. Confidentiality and data
Your enquiries, specifications, artwork and volumes are confidential. They are held in the works' own systems and are never shared with Best Capsules, the comparison site BLAST HQ LIMITED also runs, nor with any other business. See the privacy page.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise our total liability for an order is the price of that order, and we are not liable for loss of profit, sales or goodwill. We hold product and public liability insurance and will show you the certificate.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and its courts have jurisdiction. Questions to works@blasthq.co.uk.
